Lee Myles helps players Drive the Court at the 3rd Annual Light Up the Court 3v3 Youth Basketball Tournament in Memory of Kyle Conrad

This past weekend, the C the Light Foundation’s 3rd annual “Light Up the Court” 3v3 Youth Basketball Tournament once again proved that community, competition, and compassion can share the same hardwood.
Over 40 teams of young athletes from across Berks County filled the courts at Governor Mifflin High School's GMACC Gym on Saturday, November 15th, battling for bragging rights while raising funds and awareness for the C the Light Foundation, keeping the spirit of our beloved former GM Alumni & Basketball Coach, Kyle Conrad, alive.
Do It Local Berks got to help make this year’s event extra special wth a heartfelt collaboration between the C the Light Foundation and longtime local sponsor Lee Myles Auto Care & Transmissions. Lee Myles stepped up in a big way by donating custom “C the Light” basketball socks to every alumnus who laced up for the legendary Alumni Game that capped the night. The same striking socks — featuring the C the Light logo — were also available throughout the day for a donation, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the foundation’s mission.
5th Grade Player, Colton Brady explained:
“Seeing the C the Light socks on the alumni court Saturday night was uplifting.” Colton further explained, “They were the same socks my 5th-grade team wore earlier that day for our Light Up the Court 3v3 basketball games. Rocking the same socks made me feel connected to the GM Alumni players, to the other teams that we competed against, and to Coach Kyle.... all at the same time. ”
The socks quickly became the hottest item at the tournament, with youth players proudly sporting them during their games and parents snapping them up as keepsakes.
Personally, I love the reminder to the coaches, kids, and alumni; that although we may not play on the same basketball team each game, we are all always on the same Berks County team with a mission of building up our community to make everyone belong, and feel the love. Lee Myles didn’t just sponsor — they helped us wrap every player’s feet in love and remembrance.
The numbers tell only part of the story:
40+ youth teams
Nearly 400 players, coaches, and volunteers
Thousands raised for C the Light to continue to make a difference in our GM Community and beyond!
But the real victory was in the smiles, the high-fives, and the quiet moments when a player looked down at their very own C the Light socks and felt connected to something bigger than the scoreboard.
As one alumnus said while tying up his new pair before tip-off of the Alumni Game: “Every time I wear these, I’ll remember Kyle and why we’re all here.”
That’s the true light that filled the court this weekend — and thanks to Lee Myles Auto Care, Do It Local Berks, and an incredible community, it’s shining brighter than ever.
