Rules
Alvernia Summer Showdown 3v3 Series
OFFICIAL RULES:
• Teams of 3 or 4 players
• 3 games guaranteed
• 1 parent/coach allowed per team
• 2 and 3 point shot value. Game played to 25 or 15 minutes. Overtime is first team to score,
players shoot FTs for ball, if both players from each team make or miss another player from
each team will shoot.
• Half-court format
• One referee per basket
• Each team is allowed one 30-second time-out (stopped clock on time-outs). In event of injury,
clock management is at the discretion of the referee.
• Jump ball for 1st possession.
• At the start of the game and after a score or dead ball, the ball must be checked to the other
team beyond the 3-point line, then play is live.
• No check is required after a live change of possession (re-bound on missed shot, steal, block,
etc). However, the team must clear the ball past the 3-point line before scoring, regardless of
whether or not it hit the rim.
• If a player is fouled while shooting and misses their shot, they will shoot 1 FT worth 2 points
• If a player is fouled while shooting and makes the shot their FT will only be worth 1 point.
• Non-shooting fouls will be rechecked at the top of the key.
• Individual & team foul counts will not be kept. All fouls under minutes result in 1 shot FT worth
2 points.
• Two technical fouls results in that player’s removal from the game.

League Details:
Sunday Night League - all games to be played on Sunday nights between 5pm-9pm.
Location: All games indoors at The PLEX or Main Gym (no rainouts!)
Game Format: 18-minute halves, see rules below.
Game Dates: (3 regular season dates plus a playoff night)
September 21st - 5p & 7p (4/5 Boys Division & Girls Division), 6p & 8p (6th Grade Boys Division & Middle School Boys Division)
October 5th - 5p & 7p (4/5 Boys Division & Girls Division), 6p & 8p (6th Grade Boys Division & Middle School Boys Division)
October 12th - 5p & 7p (4/5 Boys Division & Girls Division), 6p & 8p (6th Grade Boys Division & Middle School Boys Division)
October 19th - playoffs/ finals

A deposit of $200 is due at the time of registration to reserve your spot.
The balance of $300 is due at the first game. ($500 total league fee)
Spectator Guidelines:
Bring chairs to enjoy courtside seating!
Bring cash for concessions and admission fees (see below).
Only water is permitted on the gym level—no Gatorade or other drinks. The league faces fines if trash isn’t cleaned up after games, which could raise spectator fees. Please work together to discard all trash and take your items home after each game.
Spectator Admission Fees:
Coaches & Players: Free
Adults: $1 per game (cash preferred / Venmo or Cash App if absolutely needed)
Kids: Free with a paying adult (must stay with adult; no playing on mats or running in the facility)
Note: No kids may enter the Plex without an adult supervisor.

Important League Reminders:
Cheer on all kids—these are friend teams focused on fun, confidence, friendships, and a love for basketball, not just winning.
Keep it positive: No negativity, profanity, abusive language, aggressive behavior, or gestures. Respect officials or risk ejection. Spectators must stay off the court during games. Please read the Game Rules above for your division.
No kids are permitted on the mats.
Please clean up all trash (both in your spectating area as well as the bathrooms) to avoid an increase in spectator fees.
No food or drinks are permitted on the gym floor (expept water).
